The 2016 Super Seminar at Elkhart Martial Arts was a huge success by every measure possible. The sheer amount of participation on its own was a testament to the complete teaching power that Steve’s Gym is capable of. First off it had Bill “SuperFoot” Wallace there. For those of you who do not know who SuperFoot is, you should! He is a 23 time World Champion in kickboxing. He has also been in movies, and has his own martial arts system. You can check out his site here: http://superfoot.com/
Additionally, we had Grandmaster Steven Travis, Elkhart Martial Arts founder. Jason Landass, the Head Master of Chun Moo Hapkido USA. John Salomon, one of our very own instructors, and then of course we had the distinct pleasure of having the founder of the Chun Moo Hapkido USA foundation, Rick Jesse, on hand to help with instruction and testing.
Over the course of the three days there were 3 black belt tests and 11 people ranked up in Tae Kwon Do, and 4 ranked up in Hapkido. We are happy to congratulate all of them that became black belts and higher. The success of any academy is done by the quality of black belts that they produce, not the amount, but in both cases – quality and quantity – we have the best in the Midwest, if we may be so bold!
